The Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League have a kicker by the name of Younghoe Koo on their roster (NFL).

In 2017, he started his career as a professional football player with the Los Angeles Chargers. However, four weeks into the season, the Chargers broke ties with him after he missed consecutive game-ending kicks.

After taking a year off from football, he returned to the game to play for the Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football (AAF).

While playing for the Atlanta Legends, he scored the first points in the history of the league and made all of his field goal attempts.

This performance led to his return to the National Football League with the Atlanta Falcons the same year. Koo was raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey, after having spent his childhood years in Seoul, South Korea.

He was a contributor on both the special teams and the defence during his senior year, and he was recognized as the most valuable player on the squad. In order to pursue a career as a nurse,

his mother had relocated from South Korea to the United States two years prior. Koo was a valuable member of the Georgia Southern Eagles for all four years of his collegiate career.

In his final year with the club, he was named to the first team of all-conference performers in the Sun Belt Conference after making 19 of 20 field goal tries.

Additionally, Koo was selected as a finalist for the Lou Groza Award, which is presented yearly to the individual who is deemed to be the finest collegiate kicker in the country.

Koo finished his collegiate career having made 88.6% of his tries at field goals, which was a record for the Georgia Southern team.

Younghoe Koo played college football for the Georgia Southern Eagles, and on March 15, 2022, he signed a contract extension with the Falcons that extended his rookie deal for five years and $24.25 million.
