Leesville Road High School was the site of both his high school education and football career. A four-star wide receiver, he chose Miami over Ohio State, Clemson, Oregon, and many other Power 5 institutions.

At the University of Miami, he participated in college football for the Miami Hurricanes team. He participated as a true freshman, finishing the year with 21 receptions for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns.
