A defensive tackle with the New England Patriots of the National Football League, Tanielu “Daniel” Ekuale participates in American football. He measures 1.91 m tall and 136 kilograms. He was a student at Nuuuli Vocational Technical High School. The majority of recruiting organizations rated him as the top college prospect in his class in American Samoa, and he chose Washington State University over offers from other institutions in order to play college football.

After redshirting his true freshman year, he played five seasons of collegiate football for the Washington State Cougars at Washington State University. He started at nose tackle for the Cougars during his redshirt junior season, compiling a career-high 23 tackles and a sack.

He finished his collegiate career with 71 total tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles. He joined the Cleveland Browns in May 2018 as an undrafted free agent.
