He played football while a student at Martin County High School. He played intercollegiate football for the Boston College Eagles team. As a rookie in 2012, he took part in each of the Eagles’ 12 games.

He played free safety for six games and started one game at cornerback. He finished sixth on the team in tackles with 52 and shared the team lead with two forced fumbles. As a sophomore in 2013, he played in all 13 games and recorded 34 tackles, 22 solo tackles, and three pass break-ups.
