Peter Solomon is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball at the University of Notre Dame.
Because of the widespread COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, the minor league season was canceled, hence Solomon did not participate in any games at any level of the minor leagues.
After the conclusion of the 2020 campaign, the Astros included Solomon on their 40-man roster. Solomon made his debut in the main leagues on April 17, 2021, after having been elevated to that level. The following day, he made his debut in Major League Baseball by relieving for one scoreless inning against the Seattle Mariners.
On September 19, 2021, Solomon earned his first victory after pitching four innings of relief for the Houston Astros in a game that they ultimately won 7-6. The contest was against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Minor League Baseball made the announcement on October 5, 2021, that Peter Solomon, a right-handed pitcher for the Sugar Land Skeeters, had been selected as the Triple-A West Pitcher of the Year.
