Guard Michael Onwenu plays for the New England Patriots in the National Football League. He is a member of the Patriots offensive line (NFL). He attended Michigan University and was on the football team there.

Onwenu, who played high school football at Cass Technical High School, was the top-ranked recruit in the state of Michigan for his class. He chose the University of Michigan over other schools such as Alabama and Ohio State.

After spending the first year of his career on both the offensive line and the defensive line, he spent the next three years of his career at right guard,

starting the last two seasons and receiving accolades on the third team of All-Big Ten Conference players for both his junior and senior campaigns.

In the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Onwenu was selected by the New England Patriots to become their 182nd overall pick.

During his first season with the team, Onwenu played a variety of positions, including right tackle, both guard spots, and as a sixth offensive lineman/jumbo tight end.

During their triumph over the Las Vegas Raiders by a score of 36–20, the Patriots rushed for 250 yards with his assistance.
