He enrolled at Butler Community College where he played college football for the Butler Grizzlies and the coaches switched him from safety to linebacker when he was unable to meet the academic requirements to play Division I football. He made 66 stops as a sophomore, including 14 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks. He decided to attend Virginia Tech in 2018 and committed.
