Who drafted Austin Jackson?

Austin Jackson, an offensive tackle with the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins, was born on August 11, 1999.  He was selected by the Dolphins in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft after playing college football for USC.

Jackson was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and went to North Canyon High School, where he participated in basketball and track and field as well as playing both defensive and offensive line for the school’s football team.

Jackson, a five-star recruit and the top collegiate prospect in Arizona as a senior chose the University of Southern California over offers from Washington and Arizona State to play college football.



At the conclusion of his junior season, he received first-team All-Pac-12 honors. Jackson declared for the 2020 NFL Draft after the 2019 season, saying he will forgo his senior year. Jackson started 25 of the 39 games he participated in for USC during his undergraduate career.

The Miami Dolphins selected Jackson with the 18th overall choice in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In order to get the pick, the Dolphins had dealt defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On September 13, 2020, Jackson made his NFL debut in the team’s season opener against the New England Patriots, starting as a left tackle and participating in every offensive play.

Jackson suffered a foot injury in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks and was put on injured reserve on October 9, 2020. He becomes operational on November 7, 2020.
