Fletcher Cox is a defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He is 1.93 m tall and 141 kg in weight. He finished both his high school education and his football career in the Yazoo City Municipal School District. After high school, he attended Mississippi State University and played NCAA football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
He made 103 total tackles in three seasons at Mississippi State, including 11 quarterback sacks and two interceptions. As a junior in 2011, Pro Football Weekly named him an All-American. As a senior, he made 104 total tackles, 10 quarterback sacks, one interception, and one recovered fumble.
With the 12th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Cox in the first round. In 2012, he made 15 appearances during his debut season, recording 39 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 4 passes deflected, and 1 forced fumble. He recorded 6.5 sacks, 41 tackles, a forced fumble, and other stats for the 2020 season.
For the sixth time in his career, he was selected for the Pro Bowl. In the NFL Top 100 Players of 2021, he was ranked 63rd by his fellow players. At the beginning of the next league season in March 2022, the Eagles released him; but, two days later, they re-signed him on a one-year deal.
