After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Notre Dame where he played intercollegiate football for the Fighting Irish. In December 2021, Smith joined the New York Giants’ practice squad. In September 2022, he re-signed with the New York Giants and became a member of their practice squad. He was added to the active roster in October 2022.
