Who Drafted Luke Maile?

Luke Richard Maile plays catcher for the Major League Baseball team Cleveland Guardians. He is 33 years old and was born on February 6, 1991.

He had previously played for the Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto Blue Jays, and Milwaukee Brewers. While a student at Covington Catholic High School, Maile participated in baseball, and he later attended the University of Kentucky before turning professional.

In the 43rd round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft, the Red Sox selected Maile, but he rejected their contract offer since it wasn’t good enough.



In order to play college baseball for the Kentucky Wildcats squad, Maile made the decision to matriculate at the University of Kentucky.

The Tampa Bay Rays selected Maile in the eighth round at 272nd overall in the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. For the whole 2012 campaign, he was a member of the Short Season-A Hudson Valley Renegades.

On April 6, 2017, the Toronto Blue Jays selected Maile off waivers. Following Jarrod Saltalamacchia’s assignment, Maile was recalled from the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons on April 28.

On December 16, 2019, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Maile reached a deal. In October, Maile was categorically dropped from the 40-man roster. Maile and the Milwaukee Brewers reached a one-year contract on December 8, 2020.

On April 30, 2021, Maile made his Brewers debut, entering the game as a pinch-runner and playing the position of catcher the entire time.

Maile and the Cleveland Guardians reached a one-year contract on March 14, 2022.
