Anthony Bender, also known as Anthony Wayne Bender, is a well-known American baseball player. He plays baseball for the Miami Marlins as a pitcher. He was created on February 3, 1995, in Petaluma, California.
Anthony began playing baseball professionally in 2016 after being selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 20th round of the MLB Draft. He played for the Arizona League Royals Rookie League team that year. For the 2017 minor league season, he was assigned to play for the Class A Lexington Legends and the Class A-Advanced Wilmington Blue Rocks.
He played for the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball after signing with them in April 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers in May 2019, and before making his Brewers debut, he played for their Single-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, High-A Carolina Mudcats, and Double-A Biloxi Shuckers.
After opting for free agency, he signed a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins in November 2020. After being added to the Marlins’ 40-man roster, he was promoted to the main leagues in May 2021. He made his MLB debut for the team on May 5, 2021.
