Braden Mann is a professional football player who plays punting and kickoffs for the New York Jets of the National Football League. When he was a student at Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, Texas, where he was coached by former Texas A&M football player Ed Pustejovsky, he participated in football for the school’s football team. As a junior, Mann made 7 of 10 field goals and 46 of 48 extra points.
He participated in the 2014 Greater Houston Chronicle All-Star team. He made 25 of 25 extra point attempts as a senior and averaged 45 yards per punt on 41 attempts. After his senior year, he took part in the Under Armour All-America Game. He played collegiate football at Texas A&M University after graduating from high school.
Mann spent the majority of his first two years at Texas A&M as the kickoff specialist. He was selected by all five NCAA-recognized selectors, becoming the 10th player at Texas A&M to receive the honor (AP, AFCA, FWAA, Sporting News, and WCFF). He also won the Ray Guy Award for being the nation’s top collegiate punter. He was taken by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 191st overall pick.
In total, Mann gained 3,598 yards in that year, and his punt average was 43.9. With 3,598 total punting yards, he is the NFL’s leader in 2020. In September 2021, he was placed on injured reserve, and on November 13 of the same year, he was activated.
