For the National Football League’s New England Patriots, Carl Davis is a defensive tackle who plays American football. When he was in high school, he played football at Adlai Stevenson High School. By the Detroit Free Press, Detroit News, and Macomb Daily, he was named to the first team of all-state. In his senior year, after being named to the second team as a junior, he was named to the first team of the conference.
As a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes football team, he played college football while enrolled at the University of Iowa. At the University of Iowa in 2010, he was given a redshirt as a true freshman. He has two tackles while playing in six games as a redshirt freshman in 2011. He participated in 11 games and made 8 tackles as a sophomore.
As a junior in 2013, Davis started each of the team’s 13 games for the first time. He was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was given a four-year, $2.95 million contract by the Ravens in May 2015, which also included a $625,084 signing bonus. Davis was released by the Browns in August 2019.
He was signed by the Indianapolis Colts in October 2019. Following his release in November 2019, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed him. He was signed by the New England Patriots in October 2020 from the Jaguars’ practice squad. In March 2021, he extended his contract with the Patriots, and in April 2022, he re-signed with the team.
