A defensive end for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League, Christian Wilkins plays American football. He is 141 kg in weight and 1.93 m tall. Prior to going to Suffield Academy in Suffield, Connecticut after his first year, he attended Framingham High School in Massachusetts. He recorded 253 tackles and 28.5 sacks in 35 games throughout his high school career.
He was among the top players in his class and a five-star recruit. From 2015 to 2018, he was a member of the Clemson University’s football team, the Clemson Tigers. He had 33 tackles and two sacks in his 15 games played as a freshman with one start. He received the Football Writers Association of America’s All-American honors as a sophomore (FWAA).
He was a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Award as well. In the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship, he played for the Clemson team that defeated top-ranked Alabama 35-31. In the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Miami Dolphins. He caught his first career touchdown pass in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
On November 12, 2020, the team put him on the reserve/COVID-19 list until activating him on November 25. He lined up at fullback during week 15 of the 2021 campaign, and on a flick pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, he scored his second touchdown of the season. On April 28, 2022, the Dolphins exercised the fifth year of Wilkins’ contract option.
