He was chosen by the Baltimore Orioles in the 32nd round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft; however, he decided against signing a contract and instead chose to play baseball for the University of South Carolina.
In the end, the Cleveland Indians selected him in the seventh round of the 2018 MLB Draft. In 2019, Morris made his professional debut with the Lynchburg Hillcats and Lake County Captains.
