Banwart went undrafted out of Iowa in the previous NFL Draft. Prior to September 9th, he agreed to a rookie free agent contract with the Titans. Following that, he spent the remainder of the season working out with the Vikings and the Giants. The Miami Dolphins later signed him as an offensive lineman through 2024; after that, he will become a free agent in 2025.

Banwart joins the Vikings practice squad after stints with the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants.

Banwart signed with the Titans as a rookie free agency after going undrafted out of Iowa in the 2021 NFL Draft, then on September 9 he was released. Banwart spent time camping in Tennessee before being promoted to the Giants practice squad on September 21 and released on October 19.

Banwart started eight games at left and right guard while at Iowa, earning him a spot on Pro Football Focus’ Third-Team All-America list and Phil Steele’s Second-Team All-Big Ten list in 2020.

After battling injuries throughout his career at Iowa, Banwart’s first season as a full-time starter came in 2020.
