Jones played middle linebacker for Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he started three seasons.
He contributed to Jesuit reaching the LHSAA Class 5A quarterfinals, where the Blue Jays were defeated by Carencro, with 179 tackles, eight sacks, and three interceptions as a senior.
Jones was rated as a three-star recruit and the class of 2012’s No. 31 outside linebacker prospect by Rivals.com. Jones, a Corey Raymond recruit, flipped his pledge to Louisiana State after receiving a late offer in December 2011 and abandoned his August 2011 commitment to Nebraska.
