Enyel De Los Santos is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In exchange for Freddy Galvis on December 15, 2017, the Padres traded De Los Santos to the Phillies. He began the season with the Class AAA International League’s Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
For the month of April, he was recognized as the Phillies Minor League Co-Pitcher of the Month by Baseball America. At the 2018 All-Star Futures Game, De Los Santos will represent the Phillies.
Aside from that, he was selected to play in the AAA All-Star Game. In 2018, he went 10-5 with a 2.63 ERA, 110 strikeouts in 126.2 innings, a WHIP of 1.16, and a.226 batting average against with the Lehigh Valley Lemurs (3rd).
On July 10, 2018, the Philadelphia Phillies promoted De Los Santos to the major leagues.
On the same day, he made his major league debut, going the full 613 innings against the New York Mets, giving three runs, and striking out six hitters while walking none. After the game, he was optioned back to the IronPigs.
He went 1–0 with a 4.74 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 19 innings with the Phillies in 2018.
