American football quarterback and tight end Feleipe Franks now plays for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL. Franks was an undrafted free agent with the Falcons in 2021 after he played collegiate football in Florida and Arkansas.
Franks’ previous football experience was at the University of Florida. When he was a senior in high school, he threw for 6,867 yards and 81 touchdowns, earning him a four-star ranking among incoming college
quarterbacks. Francesco Franks sat out his freshman year of college in Florida by donning a red shirt. Even though he was just a freshman at the time,
he was Florida’s starting quarterback for the 2017 season opener versus Michigan. The Gators started off well, winning 3-1, but lost six of their last seven games to finish with a disappointing 4-7 record.
For the second time since 1979, the school finished with a losing record. Franks threw for 1,438 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions, good for first place on the squad.
On May 3, 2021, Franks signed a contract to join the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent who had gone undrafted. He’ll be the backup to starter Matt Ryan and Josh Rosen, the team’s second-string passer.
Franks made his NFL debut in Week 11 for the Falcons during the game against the New England Patriots. The game ended with a score of 0-25, and safety Adrian Phillips’ interception on his first throw proved decisive.
