To close off the season, Jax was promoted to the Class AAA International League team, where he spent the rest of it. Jax had a 5–7 record with a 2.90 ERA in 23 starts for the two teams, striking out 94 in 127+13 innings of work in the process.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the minor league season was canceled, and Jax did not participate in a game in 2020. He was sent to the St. Paul Saints of the Triple-A East for the start of the 2021 season.
First time in the big leagues: On June 5, 2021, Jax was drafted and promoted to the 40-man roster by the team.
