Hodgins attended Walnut Creek, California’s Berean Christian High School. He chose Oregon State University (OSU) over offers from schools like Nebraska, Oregon, and Washington State as a 4-star prospect for NCAA football.
The Buffalo Bills selected Hodgins in the sixth round, 207th overall, of the 2020 NFL Draft. On May 7, 2020, Hodgins and the Bills came to an agreement on a four-year, $3.45 million deal that also included a $158,888 signing bonus.
He was placed on a reserve list for injuries on September 6, 2020. On November 24, he received permission to come off the injured list and continue working out with the team. He had shoulder surgery on December 8, though, and the rest of the season was lost.
On August 31, 2021, the Bills dismissed Hodgins, and the next day he was re-signed to the practice squad. On December 26, 2021, Hodgins played in his first NFL game with the Bills in a Week 16 clash against the New England Patriots.
He signed a reserve/future contract on January 24, 2022, following the Bills’ loss in the Divisional Round of the 2021 Playoffs.
