It is well-known that Isaiah Simmons represents the Arizona Cardinals as an inside linebacker in the National Football League. He is 1.93 meters tall and 108 kilograms. He was conceived in July 1998 in Omaha, Nebraska. He played football as a defensive back and wide receiver at Olathe North High School in Olathe, Kansas. He pledged in February 2016 to attend Clemson University.

He participated in football at Clemson for the Clemson Tigers. His first season at Clemson in 2016 was redshirted. He participated as a safety in 14 games in 2017, making 49 tackles and allowing one sack. He made the switch to linebacker in 2018, participated in 15 games, recorded 97 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one interception. 2019 saw him return to Clemson.

In 2019 instead of signing up for the NFL Draft, he went back to Clemson. In recognition of his efforts that year, he won the Butkus Award as the greatest linebacker in the country. Simmons declared for the 2020 NFL Draft after earning a degree in sports communication and graduating in December 2019 to forego his senior year.

He took part in the NFL Combine in 2020 and finished first among linebackers in the 40-yard sprint with a time of 4.39 seconds. He was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the eighth overall choice in the 2020 NFL Draft, which was held virtually as a result of social segregation laws brought about by the COVID-19 epidemic and only 58 players were invited.
