Logan Keith Gilbert is an American baseball pitcher for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball. He was born on May 5, 1997, and comes from Winter Park, Florida. The 25-year-old pitcher made his Major league debut for the Seattle Mariners on May,13,2021.
He was a student of Wekiva High School in Apopka, Florida. He was not drafted in high school and played college baseball when he was at Stetson University. As a freshman in 2016, Gilbert appeared in 21 games with five starts, going 2-1 with a 2.74 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 49 innings.
Gilbert was named the League All-Star when he was a sophomore in 2017, after playing with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
When Gilbert began his baseball career, he was considered one of the top prospects for the 2018, Major League Baseball Draft, and was selected in the 14th overall by the Seattle Mariners. Gilbert began his 2019 season with the West Virginia Power and was their Opening Day Starter. After being able to pitch a 1-0 record with a 1.59 ERA in five starts, He was promoted to the Modesto Nuts.
He was again promoted to the Arkansas Travelers in July where he pitched a 4-2 record with a 2.88 ERA. He did not play any games in 2020 due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
On May,13,2021, Gilbert was finally selected to the 40 -man roster and promoted to the major league for the first time. He was made the starting pitcher and made his debut that day pitching against the Cleaveland Indians.
Logan Gilbert is currently in a relationship with Aviles Champion. Evidence of their relationship is seen through Gilbert’s Instagram showing that the couple has been dating for over three years. The couple is engaged and celebrated their third anniversary together in April 2021 last year.
