Veteran fullback, Michael Burton is in his eighth season in the National Football League. He entered the NFL with the Detroit Lions in the fifth round (168th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. During that time, he signed a four-year, $2.46 million contract with the team.



In his eight years in the league, Burton has also played for the Chicago Bears (2017–2018), the New Orleans Saints (2019), the Washington Redskins (2019), and now the Kansas City Chiefs.

Burton started playing competitive football during his time at West Morris Central High School in Washington Township, New Jersey.



In 2009, Burton helped the Wolfpack to a 10-2 record and their first state championship in six years. He holds the school records for career rushing yards (3,332), single-season all-purpose yards (2,376), career all-purpose yards (4,498), single-game touchdowns (5), career touchdowns (51), single-game points (36), and career points (343).

Burton attended Rutgers University and played for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights from 2011 to 2014. He had 10 carries for 44 rushing yards in the 2011 season, as well as 10 receptions for 68 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown.

Burton had three receptions for 34 receiving yards over the course of four games in the 2012 season. He had 19 receptions for 149 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in the 2013 season. During his last year of college, in 2014, he caught 15 passes and gained 150 yards.
