On May 2, 2016, the Buffalo Bills chose to take a chance on Ferguson by signing him as an undrafted free agent. On August 30, 2016, he was released from his obligations.

On November 2, 2016, he became a member of the practice squad after being signed to the team. On January 2, 2017, he became a member of the Bills organization by way of a reserve/future contract. In 2017, the Bills used Ferguson as their starting long snapper, and he appeared in all 16 of the team’s games during that season.

On January 28, 2019, Ferguson signed a three-year contract extension with the Bills, taking his playing career with the team all the way through the 2021 season.
