Oweh, who is of Nigerian origin, was born on December 15, 1998, in Hackensack, New Jersey, and she went to Blair Academy in Blairstown.

He received a roster spot for 2018 Under Armour All-America Game. Oweh pledged to play college football for Penn State.

Oweh was acquired by the Baltimore Ravens in a trade that sent Orlando Brown Jr. to the Kansas City Chiefs, and they chose him in the first round (31st overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Soon after the draft, Oweh said that he would no longer use his middle name, Jayson, which he had used in college to prevent confusion over pronouncing his first name. Instead, he would use his first name, Odafe.

On June 10, 2021, he agreed to a $12.6 million, four-year rookie contract. In his second professional game against Clyde Edwards-Helaire and the Kansas City Chiefs, Oweh forced his first turnover and recovered it late in the fourth quarter. A 36-35 victory was secured thanks to the turnover.

His performance, which included three tackles, a tackle for loss, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, earned him the title of defensive player of the week. He also hit Patrick Mahomes with a quarterback hit, which caused Tavon Young, a teammate, to intercept the pass.

At this time, Odafe Oweh is not known to have a girlfriend. He apparently tries to keep his dating situation private and out of the spotlight.
