Randal Grichuk is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played in MLB for the St. Louis Cardinals and Toronto Blue Jays
Grichuk was a member of Lamar National of Richmond, Texas, in the Little League World Series in 2003 and 2004. “Faces in the Crowd” was a section of Sports Illustrated’s July 2005 issue that featured him.
As a high school student, Grichuk attended Lamar Consolidated High School. In 2008, he was a First Team All-State OF and the All-Houston Area Most Valuable Player for Lamar Consolidated Baseball (MVP).
As a senior, Grichuk led the Mustangs to an unprecedented 29 wins and a place in the NCAA Division II regional finals. A year ago, he was named District MVP, Fort Bend Area MVP, 1st Team All-State OF, and 1st Team All-American in the Outfield (EA Sports and Baseball America).
During the course of 28 games, he had 21 home runs, 46 hits, 46 RBI, and 47 runs scored until Lamar was knocked out of the playoffs in the third round. On his 28th birthday, Grichuk announced that he was born in Czechoslovakia and Russia, respectively.
