American professional baseball outfielder Richard Palacios currently plays for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball. He was born on May 16, 1997, and is currently 24 years old.
Palacios has a brother named Joshua Palacios who is popularly known as ‘Josh Palacios’. Josh currently plays in Major League Baseball with the Washington Nationals.
Palacios played college baseball at Towson University while attending Berkeley Carroll School in New York City. He participated in the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Bourne Braves’ collegiate summer baseball program in 2017.
The Cleveland Indians selected him in the third round of the Major League Baseball draft in 2018.
With the Arizona League Indians, Mahoning Valley Scrappers, and Lake County Captains in 2018, Palacios made his professional debut, batting.361 with six home runs and thirty runs batted in over 45 games.
He missed the entire 2019 and 2020 seasons due to a torn labrum and the COVID-19 pandemic, respectively. Prior to getting promoted to the Columbus Clippers in 2021, he began the season with the Akron RubberDucks.
He hit.297/.404/.471 over 103 games for both teams, with seven home runs, 48 runs batted in, 33 doubles, and 20 stolen bases.
On November 19, 2021, Palacios was added to the Cleveland Guardians’ 40-man roster. Palacios began the 2022 season with the Triple-A Columbus Clippers before being called up by the Guardians on April 25, 2022. On that day, he started his major league career in left field.
