Ronnie Silas Dawson Jr. is an American professional baseball outfielder who currently plays for the Cincinnati Reds in Major League Baseball.
He was born on May 19, 1995, in the United States. In the Major League Baseball draft in 2016, the Houston Astros used the 62nd overall pick to choose him. He didn’t make his debut in the MLB until 2021.
Dawson received his high school education at Licking Heights in Pataskala, Ohio, where he participated in both baseball and football.
Football was his primary emphasis up until his junior year when he had an injury that tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
Prior to his senior year, he underwent knee surgery, and as a result, he was out for the whole football season. In 2013, he made his comeback to the baseball squad and finished his career with a batting average of.576.
The Columbus Dispatch bestowed this honour upon Dawson after he was selected as the All-Metro Team Player of the Year. He earned a degree in baseball from Ohio State University, where he also competed collegiately for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
In addition to that, he played summer baseball for the Chillicothe Paints of the Prospect League during his time at college. In the summer of 2015, he participated in collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League. During that season, he was selected as an all-star by the league.
