The name “Rams” was chosen by Wetzel, who acted as a general manager because his favorite college football team was the Fordham Rams from Fordham University. Marshman, the major owner, was pleased with the name decision as well.

The squad participated in the newly established American Football League and ended the 1936 regular season in second place with a record of 5–2–2, trailing only the 8–3 record of the Boston Shamrocks, who were the champions of the league.

Players on the team included William “Bud” Cooper, Harry “The Horse” Mattos, Stan Pincura, and Mike Sebastian, among others.

The Los Angeles Rams have landed in the top three slots thanks to their star power. Aaron Donald, a defensive tackle for the Rams, is the best player, followed by Cooper Kupp, a receiver for the Rams, and finally Jalen Ramsey, a cornerback for the Rams.

After completing his college football career at Pittsburgh, where he was named to the All-American team unanimously, the Rams selected him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

In addition to being selected for the Pro Bowl in each of his eight seasons and earning first-team All-Pro honors seven times, he has won a record three Defensive Player of the Year Awards. He is widely regarded as one of the best defensive players in the history of the game.

In addition, Donald was a member of the team that took home the trophy for Super Bowl LVI.
