Tyre Phillips plays offensive guard for the Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League as a professional football player. At Grenada High School in Grenada, Mississippi, he participated in football throughout his freshman season as well as his sophomore and junior years.
He declined scholarship offers from FCS schools in favor of enrolling at East Mississippi Community College in the hopes of later signing with a Division I school. Prior to entering in January 2017 at Mississippi State to play collegiate football for the Bulldogs, he spent two seasons with the Lions at East Mississippi Community College. He took a redshirt his first year at Mississippi State.
He subsequently alternated between playing both tackle positions in an offensive line rotation during his junior season. During his senior season, Phillips started each of the Bulldogs’ 13 games. After the season, he took part in the 2020 Senior Bowl. He was chosen by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
On November 3, 2020, his ankle became injured. Prior to November 30, 2020, he will not be activated again because he was placed on injured reserve. He suffered a knee injury in the first half of the team’s season-opening game against the Las Vegas Raiders in September 2021, and was carried off the field. In October 2021, he was called from injured reserve. In December 2021, he was put on injured reserve once more.
