A guard for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League, William Hernandez is a professional football player. He stands 1.88 m tall and weighs 152 kg. He was a Chaparral High student. He took part in NCAA football from 2013 to 2017 with the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Miners.
After redshirting his first season, he started every game in 49 from 2014 to 2017. Following the 2016 season, he was named to the second All-American team. The New York Giants selected Hernandez in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

In addition to being selected to the PFWA All-Rookie Team, he was chosen the Giants’ starting left guard to begin the year and started each of the team’s 16 games. He rejoined the list of players in November 2020. The starting left guard spot went to rookie Shane Lemieux, so despite his healthy comeback, he was relegated to the backup position for the remainder of the campaign. He signed a one-year contract on March 28, 2022, with the Arizona Cardinals.
