Free-agent quarterback Marcus Mariota signed a two-year contract with Atlanta Falcons.
Mariota will be the new QB for the Falcons after Matt Ryan was traded to the Indianapolis Colts.
Mariota was drafted second overall by the Tennessee Titans in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Mariota has a lot to show this season, but the former No. 2 overall pick has been patiently waiting for his chance.
The opportunity just so happens to be with Arthur Smith, the current head coach of the Falcons and his former offensive coordinator.
By no means am I discounting Ridder, and if he has the superior training camp, everything is up for grabs, Arthur Smith stated.
Mariota receives the early nod, but if the club performs poorly in the second part of the season, you have to believe Ridder will see some playing time.
