Why are Cincinnati called Bengals?

The Cincinnati Bengals are a professional American football team based in Cincinnati. The Bengals compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference North division.

The team is known to have its mascot being a  Bengal tiger (Who Dey) whiles the team is head coached by  Zac Taylor with its home stadium being the  Paul Brown Stadium.

Bengals general manager happens to be  Mike Brown (de facto) and have their fighting song been the Bengals Growl.



According to reports, the team home games are held in downtown Cincinnati at Paul Brown Stadium.

Why are Cincinnati called Bengals?

Brown chose the name Bengals as a link to a local pro team called the Cincinnati Bengals that had played from 1937 to 1941.
