Why Is Stephen Strasburg Always Hurt?

Stephen Strasburg has recently been out of playing games due to his never-ending predicament of injuries. He underwent carpal tunnel surgery in 20202 and then had to do another surgery for thoracic syndrome in 2021.

He remained in Floride while the rest of his team went to the North for a game. The right-handed pitcher had a painful and unpleasant feeling in his neck in a recent throwing session and has since not been active in games.

By 2022, Strasburg has not been able to complete two past seasons as he always ended them with injuries and surgeries and has been limited to 26 2/3innings. It has been reported that the latter surgery he had in his neck is the major reason that is keeping the pitcher from playing more games this spring.

“I’m not too far from getting back in a game and getting built up from there”.Strasburg said. The pitcher added that he is working hard to gain back his strength and that it’s been a long and hard process of building up his stamina.

Strasburg was placed on the injured list again on Monday due to discomfort during a bullpen session.

Strasburg, 33, had thoracic outlet syndrome surgery last year. He struggled in his season debut, allowing seven earned runs in four and third innings of work against the Miami Marlins on Thursday.

Strasburg has only made eight starts in the last three seasons due to injuries.
