William “Will” Hernandez participates in American football as a guard for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals. He is 1.88 m tall and 152 kg in weight. He was a student at Chaparral High. From 2013 through 2017, he participated in collegiate football for the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Miners football team.



He started all 49 games from 2014 through 2017 after redshirting his rookie season. He was a second-team All-American after the 2016 campaign. He was chosen for the C-USA first team following the 2017 campaign. He received an invitation to the College Football All-Star Challenge as well. In the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Hernandez.

He was given a four-year, $7.45 million contract by the New York Giants on May 12, 2018, which included a $3.49 million signing bonus and a guarantee of $5.08 million. He was selected to the PFWA All-Rookie Team and was named the Giants’ starting left guard to begin 2018. He started all 16 games. He tested positive for COVID-19 in October 2020, and the Giants put him on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

He was added back to the active roster in November 2020. He did not start at left guard for the balance of the season, losing the job to rookie Shane Lemieux, despite being fully recovered. He was given a one-year deal by the Arizona Cardinals on March 28, 2022.
