American Major League Baseball pitcher Gregory Wyatt Mills, born January 25, 1995, plays for the Kansas City Royals. For the Seattle Mariners in 2021, he made his MLB debut.



Mills was chosen by the Seattle Mariners in the third round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft after his senior year.

Prior to being promoted to the Clinton LumberKings, Mills made his professional debut with the Everett AquaSox after signing with Seattle. He pitched 20 and a third innings for the two teams, going 0-2 with six saves, a 1.77 ERA, and 29 strikeouts.



He started the 2018 season with the Modesto Nuts, where he went 6-0 with 11 saves in 42+3 innings of work and earned the title of California League All-Star.

He pitched to a 10.13 ERA in 10+2/3 innings before being promoted to the Arkansas Travelers at the end of the season. After the season, he was given the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League, where in eight outings he went 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA.

He went back to Arkansas in 2019 and pitched 52+2/3 innings of relief, striking out 66 batters while going 4-2 with eight saves and a 4.27 ERA. He was chosen on October 10 to play for the American baseball team in the 2019 WBSC Premier 12 competition in November after the season.

Mills was added to the 40-man roster on November 20, 2020. Mills received his first promotion to the top leagues on May 1, 2021.

That evening, he faced the Los Angeles Angels and pitched a scoreless inning in relief. In 12+2/3 innings of work for the Mariners in 2021, Mills allowed 14 earned runs while also walking seven and striking out 11.

When not pitching for Seattle, Mills pitched for the Triple-A West’s Tacoma Rainers, posting a 4-2 record, 3.14 ERA, and 51 strikeouts in 28+2/3 innings.

Mills and William Fleming were given to the Kansas City Royals on June 27, 2022, in exchange for Carlos Santana.
