The West Virginia Mountaineers were Cajuste’s collegiate football team. He did not participate in any games during the 2014 season. During the 2015 campaign, he started a total of six games before going down with an injury against Baylor.
However, he would make a comeback at the end of the season, and the Mountaineers would go on to win the Cactus Bowl. During the opening game of the 2016 season, which was played against Missouri, he suffered an injury that ended his season.
He was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team after starting 13 games for the Mountaineers last season and earning honors.
In 2018, which was his final season, he was named to multiple teams and received multiple honors, including Big 12 Conference Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year, FWAA All-American (Second Team), Phil Steele All-America (Second Team), Athlon Sports All-America (Fourth Team), and Athlon Sports All-America (Fourth Team). He also was named to the All-Big 12 Conference First Team.
