In October 2010, as an unrestricted foreign free agent, Daza joined the Colorado Rockies. Over the Rookie-level DSL Rockies, he played for his first three professional seasons (2011–2013).
His 2014 rookie season saw him play for the Grand Junction Rockies, where he hit.370/.415/.490/.905 with 4 home runs and 35 RBI. After the 2017 campaign, he was added to the Rockies’ 40-man roster. With the Double-A Hartford Yard Goats, where he played the whole 2018 season, he hit.306/.330/.461/.791 with 4 home runs and 29 RBI.
Injuries to his left shoulder in late July of that year’s campaign limited him to 54 games in 2018. The Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes were Daza’s first team of the 2019 season.
On April 9, 2019, the Rockies gave Daza his first promotion to the main leagues because of the injury that David Dahl had sustained. On the same day, Daza faced the Atlanta Braves in his big league debut.
Despite David Dahl’s injuries and Ian Desmond’s decision to forgo the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Daza did not play in a single game for the Rockies that year.
Before going down with an injury in August, Daza started most of the 2021 season at center field for Colorado. Ultimately, he struck. 282 with 30 RBI in 107 games, 2 home runs, and 282.
