He hit two more home runs in his following three games to conclude June with a .317 batting average, seven home runs, and twenty-one RBI, earning him the American League Rookie of the Month award.



When he drove in his 35th run in an 11-1 win over the Oakland Athletics on July 22nd, he eclipsed Albert Pujols’ record for most RBI in a player’s first 30 games.

In July, he was named Rookie of the Month for the second time, hitting .333 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 21 games; he also hit seven doubles.

He hit three home runs in a 23-2 win over the Orioles on August 10th, scoring four runs and driving in seven. He hit five home runs, including a grand slam, and now has 51 RBI in 45 games, breaking Ted Williams’ old mark of 47.
