Younghoe Koo, who was born in the United States on August 3, 1994, is a placekicker for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.
Koo is of South Korean and American descent. In 2017, he started his career as a professional football player with the Los Angeles Chargers.
But four weeks into the season, the Chargers cut ties with him after he missed consecutive game-ending kicks. After taking a year off from football, he not only scored the first points in league history but also made
all of his field goal attempts before the Alliance of American Football indefinitely suspended operations. Because of this success,
Koo was able to make his NFL comeback with the Falcons in the same year. When Koo was a member of the Falcons,
he developed a reputation for his ability to successfully execute onside kicks, and this reputation continues to this day. Koo was raised in New Jersey after being born in Seoul, which is located in South Korea.
During his senior year at Ridgewood High School, he was honoured with the Most Valuable Player award. Koo was a member of the defence and the special teams, and on defence,
he had a total of six interceptions. Ki-Jin Koo was selected for the all-conference first team and is now a finalist for the Lou Groza Award, which is given to the top kicker in college football in the United States.
During his four years at Georgia Southern, Koo set a record for the school’s team by making 88.6% of his field goal attempts while he was there.
