Zach McCloud Bio.
With the Denver Broncos of the National Football League, Zach McCloud plays linebacker professionally. He is 1.88 m tall and weighs 107 kg. He was a student at Santaluces High School and participated in football there. In spite of receiving offers from other universities, he decided to join the University of Miami to play collegiate football for the Miami Hurricanes.
In 2016, he had a stellar first season as a true freshman, starting at linebacker in 11 of the team’s 13 games, and recording 37 tackles overall. He also had one blocked kick, four quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, and 3.5 tackles for loss. He played in all 13 of the games he was a starter in as a sophomore in 2017, recording 48 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks.
He was one of the team’s key defensive players during that campaign and was named ACC Co-Linebacker of the Week once. He took part in all 13 of his games as a junior in 2018 and made nine starts. With 44 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks, he had a successful season. As a senior in 2019, he participated in four games, made one start, and recorded nine tackles in addition to one PBU.
He started eight of his nine games as a redshirt senior in 2020 and was one of the team’s four captains before the season. He recorded 27 total tackles, including two sacks, by season’s end. He was an undrafted free agent who was signed by the Denver Broncos in the 2021 NFL Draft.
