On May 28, 2019, the Indians selected the contract of Plesac from the Clippers. Against the Red Sox, he made his MLB debut with a scoreless five-plus-thirds of an inning at Fenway Park.

Plesac threw a four-hit shutout in the middle of a wildcard playoff race against the Los Angeles Angels.

First complete game and first shutout of Plesac’s career were both achieved in this game. Plesac finished the season with an 8–6 record in 21 appearances. He fanned 88 times in 115+2/3 innings of work.

Against the White Sox, Plesac had one of his greatest starts of the 2020 season, pitching eight innings, striking out 11 batters, and allowing no runs.

When the Indians sent Plesac home by car service on August 9, he had violated team and MLB COVID-19 protocols after going out with friends following a game against the White Sox.

Later, Plesac released an apology statement. Plesac threw in eight games for the 2020 Cleveland Indians, going 4-2 with a 2.28 ERA with 57 strikeouts in 55 13 innings.

Plesac’s three no-hitters against the Indians in 2021 set an MLB record for the most such outings by an opposing pitcher.
