The Orioles traded Britton to the New York Yankees on July 24th, 2018 for Dillon Tate, Cody Carroll, and Josh Rogers, all prospects of the Baltimore organization. In his final season with the Yankees, Britton had a 2.88 earned run average in 25 starts
From 2016 through 2018, he had the lowest earned run average (ERA) of any big league pitcher with at least 100 innings pitched. On January 11, 2019, the Yankees signed Britton to a three-year contract with an option for a fourth year.
