Zack Britton

Zackary Grant Britton, professionally known as Zach Britton is an American-born professional baseball player. He serves as a pitcher for the New York Yankees baseball team. He was born on December 22, 1987, in Panorama City, Los Angeles, California in the United States of America to Greg and Martha Britton. 

He played high school baseball at Canyon High School for his freshman year and later transferred to Weatherford High School. He was an all-state outfielder for the baseball team, and also played as a pitcher. He was offered an athletic scholarship to attend Texas A&M University but he declined and chose to play professional baseball when the Baltimore Orioles drafted him in the third round of the 2006 MLB draft.

He signed with the Orioles for a $200,000 signing bonus. He played in minor leagues for the Orioles till he was promoted to the major leagues in 2011. He made his MLB debut on April 3, 2011, for the Orioles. The Orioles and Zack agreed to a $3.2 million deal in 2015 to avoid salary arbitration. His contract was traded to the New York Yankees in June 2018.

Zack Britton has two siblings, they are Buck Britton and Clay Britton. His older brother, Buck, happens to be a former infielder who played for the Orioles. He currently works as a manager of the Norfolk Tides.
