In his personal life, Zack is married to Emily Greinke, whom he walked down the aisle on the 21st of November in 2009.

Zack has had Emily at his side in both good and sad times. Zack struggled with social anxiety in 2006, despite playing baseball throughout his childhood. Greinke was forced to leave the Kansas City Royals when his spring training situation became substantially worse.

Zack considered calling it quits on the game, but he persevered. In addition, during the game, Yankees fans taunted Zack, increasing his anxiety. They took advantage of his public disclosure of his anxiety and sadness to mentally disqualify him.

Greinke made his comeback as a relief pitcher a year later, after missing the 2006 season. He also played in the 2009 All-Star game, which was a pleasant surprise.

However, his transformation and strength in dealing with his problems did not happen quickly. Zack’s wife supported him as he struggled with social anxiety and depression.
