Zakoby McClain is an inside linebacker who plays for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League in the sport of American football. McClain received his high school education at Valdosta High School, located in Valdosta, Georgia.
McClain was rated as a 4-star prospect while he was graduating from high school. He was regarded as the 13th best outside linebacker prospect and the 24th top prospect from the state of Georgia.
McClain chose Auburn over LSU, Tennessee, and a number of other programs before making his decision.
During his freshman year, McClain had very limited playing time. McClain became a full-time starter for the Tigers when he was a sophomore, and in the 2019 Iron Bowl against their rival Alabama, he recorded a pick six for 99 yards that helped propel the Tigers to an upset victory of 48–45.
With 113 total tackles during his junior year, McClain topped the entire nation in total tackles. Following his senior year, McClain earned a spot on the Southeastern Conference’s Second Team All-Conference Team.
McClain made the announcement on December 27 that he would be entering the NFL Draft rather than playing in Auburn’s bowl game.
After going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, McClain agreed to terms with the Baltimore Ravens to become a member of their team.
