Zechariah McPhearson is a cornerback who currently competes for the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL).

Texas Tech served as the home of his collegiate football career. Zech McPhearson entered the world on March 21, 1998, in Baltimore, Maryland.

He attended a number of colleges, including Texas Tech University and Penn State University. During his senior year, he participated in all 10 games, started nine of them, and recorded 53 tackles.

He was selected for the first all-league teams by the Big 12 coaches, the Associated Press and Phil Steele Magazine.

McPhearson won the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award for his game against the Detroit Lions in Week 1 of the 2022 campaign.

On special teams during that game, he made two tackles and recovered an unexpected onside kick attempt. Since Jake Elliott received the award in 2021, he is the first Eagle to receive it.

He signed a rookie contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on June 3, 2021, for four years. Kim McPhearson played football for the National Women’s Football League,

and Gerrick McPhearson played football for the New England Patriots in 1988. His older brother Derrick played professionally for the Milwaukee Brewers organization for a while after earning a degree in football from the University of Illinois.

The Arizona Diamondbacks organization chose Matthew in the fourth round of the draft after he finished high school. His sister, Kimberly, competes in collegiate soccer.
