Elias Diaz is a Venezuelan professional baseball catcher for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Diaz had a batting record of 0–2 in the major leagues in the year 2015, 0–4 in the year 2016, and.223/.265/.314 with one home run in 200 at-bats in the year 2017.
The decision to not re-sign Diaz was made by Pittsburgh on December 2, 2019, and he is now a free agent. The signing of Dáz to a minor league contract by the Colorado Rockies took place on January 6, 2020.
The Rockies will have Diaz on their Opening Day roster, and on July 22, 2020, he was picked to be part of their 40-man roster.
